If you've purchased equipment from Learning Labs, you might have met our newest technician, Bill Sergeant. Bill sometimes works at Learning Labs' office in Calhoun, where he repairs damaged equipment and sets up the latest educational products we receive. More often than not, however, he's out in the field, troubleshooting problems, making repairs, or setting up new STEM education classrooms for our customers.
Joining our team in 2019, Bill has six years of experience in related industries, including as a Team Leader in auto manufacturing and engineered
drafting. This helped him hone his troubleshooting and risk-management skills, which he now uses to keep Learning Labs' equipment running smoothly. Alongside these abilities, Bill believes the best asset Learning Labs employees can offer our customers is their experience in the private sector. Bill also works hard to learn each product well, whether it's the latest technology from our suppliers or a machine we've sold for years. Patience and clear communication are, he feels, imperative when working with teachers. After all, they'll be using the equipment when Bill heads to his next assignment! The best part of his job, in Bill's words, is "being part of shaping a successful future for our next generation." One of his best experiences on the job was having a young man thank him for making his school better. Hands-on education will, he hopes, make STEM career paths a sought-after goal of many of today's students and help create future leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
